These Terms govern your use of the OddJobit service as a customer. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to them. You must be at least 18 years old. 1. Who You're Dealing With
OddJobit LLC provides the services. When you send a request, receive a quote, pay, or have work done, your agreement is with us. We decide whether to accept your request, we set the price, we perform the work -- ourselves, or through a local business we arrange and name to you (Section 3.6) -- and we are the party responsible for it. Our name appears on your card statement, and your payment goes to us.
We make no claim of any license, bond, or certification except where we state one in writing for a specific job. 2. Your Account
Your phone number is your sign-in. You create an account with your name and a mobile phone number, and you sign in by entering a one-time code we text to that number. There is no password. You may add an email address for receipts; it is optional and is not used to sign in. One phone number is one account. Keep your phone secure and don't share sign-in codes with anyone; you're responsible for activity on your account. If your number changes, you can move your account to the new number in settings by confirming a code sent to it; if you lose access to your old number, contact us and we'll move your account after confirming it's you. We approve who joins and may decline or remove members. The service is private: accounts come from an invitation or our waitlist, and we approve each one.
3. Requests
3.1 How it works. You describe what you need in plain text (optionally with a photo). Automated systems interpret and screen your request (Section 5), we review and approve a structured version of it, and if we accept, you receive a quote you can pay.
3.2 Be accurate — and share only what's needed. Provide accurate information. Your request text, addresses, access instructions, and any photo are used to do the work. Include sensitive details (like door or gate codes) only when the job requires them.
3.3 Prohibited requests. You may not request anything illegal, or anything in a prohibited category (including firearm handling, custody of cash or cash equivalents, medical care, signing legal documents on your behalf, hazardous or regulated materials, and sexual services). Some categories (currently including passenger transport and transport of minors) are unavailable. Automated screening may block or flag requests; blocked requests cannot be accepted.
3.4 Photos. Photos must be JPEG, PNG, or WebP, up to 10 MB, and must not contain unlawful or sexually explicit content. Uploaded photos are automatically screened; location metadata is removed before storage. Photos that violate these rules may be blocked, quarantined, preserved, and where required by law, reported to the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children or law enforcement.
3.5 Fair use. Request volume is limited (currently 20 requests per day) to keep the service available for everyone.
3.6 Named local providers. Some work is performed by local businesses we arrange and dispatch -- a detailer, a groomer, a pool cleaner, a handyman. We name the provider to you before you pay, and we tell you who is coming and when. Your agreement, your quote, and your payment are still with OddJobit LLC: the provider works for us on your job, not for you, and we remain responsible to you under these Terms. What we say about a provider is our own description of them; we do not represent that any provider has been licensed, bonded, insured, or otherwise checked by us, and any concern about a provider should come to us. Some services are offered at a fixed price from a menu: the price shown is the whole price, it is fixed when you choose the option, and it does not change if the time is rescheduled. When a provider must confirm a time, you are not charged until they have.
4. Quotes, Payment, Cancellation, and Refunds
4.1 Quotes. A quote is our offer to do the work at the stated price. Quotes expire — currently 10 minutes after they're sent, or 24 hours after a named provider has confirmed a time — after which you can submit the request again.
4.2 Payment. Payment is by card, processed by Stripe, charged before work begins. We do not see or store your card number.
4.3 Cancellation. - Before paying: cancel any time; nothing is charged. - Within 15 minutes after paying: cancel for an automatic full refund. - After 15 minutes: cancellation becomes a request to us, and we decide whether and how much to refund, since work or preparation may already be underway.
4.4 Failed jobs. If we mark a job failed, you are automatically refunded in full.
4.5 Problems with a job. If something went wrong, contact us first through the service and we'll try to make it right. Card disputes are handled between you, your card issuer, and us as merchant of record. A refund cannot be issued on a charge with an open card dispute; if you've disputed a charge with your card issuer, resolve that dispute first.
5. Automated Processing (AI) Disclosure
Automated systems — including artificial-intelligence language models from third-party providers — interpret your request text, classify it, screen it for prohibited content, and support price calculation. These systems can make mistakes: they may misread a request, miss something, or produce an inaccurate structure or estimate. That is why a person reviews and approves the interpreted request and the final price before any quote reaches you. Your request text is processed by AI providers under commercial terms that prohibit its use for training AI models. See the Privacy Policy for details. If a quote or job summary looks wrong, don't pay it — reply to correct it or contact us.
6. Communications; SMS Consent
By creating an account you agree to receive text messages (SMS) from OddJobit at the phone number you provide — sign-in codes, and updates about your requests, quotes, payments, jobs, and account. These are operational messages only; we do not send marketing texts. Message frequency varies with your activity. Message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to stop texts, or HELP for help. Because your phone number is how you sign in, opting out of texts means you will not be able to receive sign-in codes or time-sensitive updates about your jobs until you opt back in by texting START. If you gave us an email address, we may also send receipts and account notices to it.
7. Your Content
You keep ownership of the text and photos you submit. You grant us a license to use them as needed to operate the service and perform your jobs, including the automated processing described in Section 5. You are responsible for having the right to share what you submit.
8. Account Deletion and Records
You may delete your account in settings (not while a job is in progress). Deletion removes your name, email, and phone from your account profile. Records of past jobs — including request text you submitted — are retained as business records for purposes such as dispute resolution, fraud prevention, audit, and legal compliance, as described in the Privacy Policy.
9. Acceptable Use
You may not use the service to break the law, harass or defraud anyone, upload malicious code, probe or overload our systems, access others' data, or misrepresent your identity. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
10. Disclaimers
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, THE WEBSITE AND SOFTWARE ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE," AND ODDJOBIT CONCIERGE DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, ABOUT THE SOFTWARE, INCLUDING THE ACCURACY OF AUTOMATED INTERPRETATION, SCREENING, OR PRICE CALCULATION BEFORE HUMAN REVIEW. THIS SECTION DOES NOT DISCLAIM OUR RESPONSIBILITY FOR SERVICES WE ACCEPT AND PERFORM, AND NOTHING IN THESE TERMS EXCLUDES WARRANTIES OR RIGHTS THAT CANNOT BE EXCLUDED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW, INCLUDING ANY NON-WAIVABLE RIGHTS UNDER CALIFORNIA CONSUMER LAW.
11. Limitation of Liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW: (a) ODDJOBIT CONCIERGE IS NOT LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES; AND (b) ODDJOBIT CONCIERGE'S TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AROSE OR ONE HUNDRED U.S. DOLLARS ($100). SOME JURISDICTIONS DO NOT ALLOW CERTAIN LIMITATIONS, SO SOME MAY NOT APPLY TO YOU. NOTHING IN THESE TERMS LIMITS LIABILITY THAT CANNOT BE LIMITED UNDER APPLICABLE LAW.
12. Dispute Resolution; Arbitration; Class Waiver
12.1 Talk to us first. Before filing any claim, email admin@oddjobit.com describing the dispute; we'll have 30 days to try to resolve it with you informally.
12.2 Arbitration. Any dispute between you and OddJobit arising out of or relating to these Terms or the service that is not resolved informally will be resolved by binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules. The AAA consumer fee schedule applies; arbitration will occur in your county of residence or remotely, at your choice. Judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.
12.3 Exceptions. Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court.
12.4 Class action waiver. CLAIMS MUST BE BROUGHT INDIVIDUALLY, NOT AS A PLAINTIFF OR CLASS MEMBER IN ANY CLASS, COLLECTIVE, OR REPRESENTATIVE PROCEEDING. If this waiver is unenforceable as to a claim, that claim proceeds in court.
12.5 Opt-out. You may opt out of Sections 12.2 and 12.4 by emailing admin@oddjobit.com within 30 days of first accepting these Terms, stating your name, the phone number on your account, and that you opt out of arbitration.
13. General
13.1 Changes. We may update these Terms; for material changes we'll give notice (by text, by email if you gave us one, or in-product) at least 30 days before they take effect. Continued use after that is acceptance.
13.2 Governing law. California law governs these Terms, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules; the Federal Arbitration Act governs Section 12.
13.3 Severability; waiver; assignment. If a provision is unenforceable, the rest stands. Not enforcing a provision isn't a waiver. You may not assign these Terms; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
